We have partnered with some of the best data centre providers across New Zealand and Europe, with a constantly expanding service portfolio across Hamilton, Auckland, Dublin and London, creating a true global presence.
We strive to ensure a consistent design and operational excellence across our footprint, allowing you to easily scale your services. These data centres now operate as both Active Primary nodes as well as Disaster Recovery and Backup pools, thus ensuring true resilience by geographic separation without compromising performance and value.
Our core data centre services provide you with the foundation upon which you can build and expand your businesses. We offer flexible data centre solutions to meet a range of scale and security needs. Whichever location you choose, you’ll have the right connectivity for your business.
Cloud Infrastructure Designed for You
We use advanced architecture providing multi‑instance isolation, giving every customer their own unique application space and separation. This means all customers have fully customised cloud services without affecting other customer instances. This also allows our cloud solution to scale seamlessly.
Advanced High Availability allows us to move customer instances quickly out of harm’s way for routine maintenance and unexpected issues.
Security and Compliance
The enterprise needs to know their data is secure in the cloud. PlatformPlus secures our cloud and your data using multiple technologies and levels of security that has been certified compliant by third‑party organisations.
We also integrate with single sign‑on services and secure your data using access controls by IP address, by user, by role, and using multi‑factor authentication. Protect data at rest using field and application encryption delivering comprehensive geographical and industry compliance.
Our Cloud solutions are designed for global enterprises in terms of availability, location, and scale. Our geographic separation allows us to accommodate our customer’s physical location and data sovereignty requirements.
At PlatformPlus, operational excellence is our top priority including:
- Utilisation of Tier3+ data centre sites built and designed for availability featuring the highest standards of reliable power, fire suppression, and physical security

Infrastructure as a Service
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) is the foundation of cloud computing. Rather than purchasing or leasing space in an expensive data centre, labour, real estate, and all of the utilities to maintain and deploy computer servers, cloud networks and storage, Cloud buyers rent space in a virtual data centre from an IaaS provider.
They have access to the virtual data centre via the Internet. This type of cloud computing provides the “raw materials” for IT, and users usually only pay for the resources they consume, including (but not limited to) CPU cores, RAM, hard disk or storage space, and data.
All true Cloud providers allow users to “rent” virtual servers and storage while creating networks to tie them all together. When renting from a cloud IaaS provider, users are renting the hardware and the provisioning software that automates it.
Software as a Service
Software as a service (SaaS) is a model for the distribution of software where customers access software over the Internet. In SaaS, a service provider hosts the application at its data centre and a customer accesses it via a standard Web browser.
There are a few major characteristics that apply to most SaaS vendors:
- Updates are applied automatically without customer intervention
- The service is purchased on a subscription basis
- No hardware is required to be installed by the customer
Software as a Service is also known as hosted software or on-demand software.
Platform as a Service
Platform as a service (PaaS) is a concept that describes a computing platform that is rented or delivered as an integrated solution, solution stack or service through an Internet connection.
The solution stack may be a set of components or software subsystems used to develop a fully functional product or service, such as a web application that uses an OS, web server, database and programming language. More generically, the solution stack may deliver an OS, middleware, database or application.
Backup as a Service
Backup as a Service (BaaS) is an approach to backing up data that involves purchasing backup and recovery services from an online data backup provider.
Instead of performing backup with a centralised, on-premises IT department, BaaS connects systems to a private, public or hybrid cloud managed by the outside provider.
Desktop as a Service
Desktop as a Service (DaaS) is a form of virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) in which the VDI is outsourced and handled by a third party. Also called hosted desktop services, desktop-as-a-service is frequently delivered as a cloud service along with the apps needed for use on the virtual desktop.
A Desktop as a Service provider typically handles storing, securing and backing up a user’s data, as well as upgrades for the DaaS service and supported applications.
Disaster Recovery as a Service
Disaster Recovery as a service (DRaaS) is a cloud computing and backup service model that uses cloud resources to protect applications and data from the disruption caused by a disaster. It gives an organisation a total system backup that allows for business continuity in the event of system failure.
DRaaS is often offered in conjunction with a disaster recovery plan (DRP) or business continuity plan (BCP).
DRaaS is also known as business continuity as a service (BCaaS).
Customers on PlatformPlus will have the ability to have high speed access to the Connected Health Network.
Connected Health is a standards-based, commercial model for the delivery of universal connectivity across the New Zealand health sector.
The Connected Health Network is a ‘network of networks’ delivered by multiple telecommunication service providers on a competitive basis, using industry standard, commodity capability.
Benefits of Connected Health
Connected Health improves reliability, safety, and security of transferring health information.
Only products or services certified against approved network connectivity standards will be allowed to connect to the network.
- requires health IT suppliers to disaggregate services and products and certify them against common (HISO-approved) network connectivity standards, thereby levelling the competitive field and allowing new vendors to enter the market
- increases competition between health IT suppliers, increasing innovation and encouraging value for money
- gives health organisations across the sector, whether public or private, a greater choice of standardised offerings, from multiple IT suppliers
- provides a foundation for the safe sharing of electronic health information throughout the sector and with the public at large
- provides a consistent approach for connecting up and addressing entities across the entire health sector
- enables the implementation of the initiatives in the National Health IT Plan that transfer information
- builds foundation components.
